RBC Bluesfest Instructor Sharon Riley features in new Vin Diesel Movie

It’s been quite a year for long time RBC Bluesfest Blues in the Schools artist educator Sharon Riley. At our post first-day of Blues in the Schools debrief, Sharon dropped a story about how she was featured in the new Vin Diesel movie ‘The Return of Xander Cage”. Here she is hanging with Diesel and Samuel L. Jackson. Congratulations Sharon and it’s great to have you back in Ottawa again sharing your love of music and life with our program.

Sharon Riley is a leading proponent of gospel music in Canada. In 1992 Sharon co-founded Faith Chorale, a group that has established high benchmarks for Canadian gospel music, including: the first Black gospel group to sign a major international record deal; Grammy awards for work with the Chieftans and Grammy nominations for appearances on movie soundtracks; and Juno Awards and nominations for several albums. Sharon is highly regarded as a music educator both for her work in the Blues in the Schools program and by the many students whose hearts and souls she has touched.
